FEELING THE MOMENT

In darkness of a cobalt sky,
the breezes sigh
and tease my hair,
while in the air
the lilacs fling their sweetest scent . . .
a night’s accent,
as insects croon
to earth’s full moon,
and lightening bugs morse code the night
with blinking light;
I feel these things
this moment brings..

JUNE/MOON

Stars, warm night, and romantic moon
Promise love in the month of June
…………..
Kissing the earth, Old Man in the Moon
Prompting romance in the month of June
…………..
Big flirt, Old Man in the Moon
Winking through clouds in month of June
…………..
If I could sing, the song I’d croon
Would be a sweet “I love you” tune
…………..
Winking his eye, Old Man in the Moon
Flirting now with the month of June

Right where we live

sunset

GOD’S PRECIOUS EARTH

I often have a yearning

          To leave my chores behind

To commune with Mother Nature

          And let my tensions unwind

To relax before a campfire

          And watch the embers glow

To smell the fragrant piney scent

          As the fire burns low

To hear the water whispering

          While caressing the shore

To hear the chorused night sounds

          From nature’s open door

With a full moon shining brightly

          To light the forest trail

Sending flirty little moonbeams

To kiss the hill and vale

To watch heaven’s jewels winking

          As the forest creatures play

While the evening’s gentle breezes

Wash away the heat of day

Oh, the sweet fulfilled awareness

          As my senses give birth

To the beauty that surrounds me

          On God’s most precious earth
