I saw you in the crowd today.
You didn’t even look my way.
But you must care, for you still wear
The chain and token from our past,
Though love was doomed and could not last.
It stirred old memories in my mind.
Rich memories of the sweetest kind.
A perfect pair but unaware
That we were destined kindred souls,
So we let pride destroy those roles.
I thought our love had died away,
Then, I saw you in the crowd today.
